I had the pleasure of dealing with Vince in person at the Hamburg reptile show, and I must say I was impressed with his knowledge of his stock. He was very helpful with any questons I had. As always Regal has some of the best prices on inverts, and a very large stock list to choose from. Everything was priced so there was no guessing or having to ask about the price of every spider of intrest. The stock looked healthy and well cared for. I was very pleased with the service I got and look forward to future dealings with Vince of Regal Reptiles.

I have dealt with Vince on 2 occasions so far, and I have been very pleased and impressed with him both times. Having the luck of being within 20 minutes of the store, I love the fact that he is willing to let my son and I look through his stock at our leisure - without feeling rushed in any way. He is gentle with the animals, has very sound advice, and gave me a great deal. Today I purchased a very healthy Eupalaestrus campestratus (Pink Zebra Beauty) and a tiny Bloodleg 'sling. He thanked me for my forum comments, and even remembered me from my previous visit (almost 3 weeks prior!).
Keep up the great work, Vince - and all at Regal Reptiles.

I recently ordered some insects from Vince, and I am very pleased with the way that they were shipped and the condition that they arrived in. I will make a point of ordering from him again in the future!

Well, I recieved an order today from Vince, and I must say, I'm doing a little happy dance as I type. I ordered 4 T's from him, one of which is a guaranteed female, and is absolutely HUGE! but along with these I also recieved a few freebies! :D
But, vince is a wonderful guy to talk to, and has very reasonable prices, especially on females. There was a slight mishap with the shipping, but everything arrived fine, with good packaging on all.
I would definately recommend him, but since I'm writing this, of course I would... :D

Saw Vince at the Daytona Expo recently and I bought a really nice adult A. anax and got a L. cristata sling as a freebie. Very helpful, friendly and had a large selection of tarantulas at reasonable prices. All the T's on display were in great shape. I would definately recommend Regal to anyone.
In October of 2002 I received a shipment from Regal that was missing several items. I immediately contacted the person in charge of the inverts at the time and was told that I would receive the other items the next day. I was given a tracking number for UPS which I later determined to be someone elses tracking number from months ago. After many attempts to resolve this problem, I finally gave up and put Regal on my Black List.
Only recently did I hear through the grapevine that the Invertebrate dept was under new management and that a gentleman named Vince was now on the scene. I called and talked with him regarding what had happened and after searching for invoices and the like, Vince called to tell me that he would not be able to credit me due to lack of evidence from both parties.....totally understandable, (my fault for not keeping receipts!). In any case, I decided to give Regal one more chance and I must say WOW. Vince is very knowledgable and takes time out of his break neck schedule to talk with you. He gets an A in customer service!
When I received my most recent shipment, I was incredibly happy to find that all of the items requested were actually there! I did have two DOA's and Vince had no problem crediting me for them. It's nice to have trustworthy people like Vince in the business. Thanks Vince!!
If you have had bad dealings with Regal prior to Vince coming on board, I urge you to give them another chance.

I met Vince at the Daytona reptile show, and really liked the guy. He's very nice, and seems to know his animals very well.
My issue is with a misidentification on a species. Again, let me stress that I feel Vince is a wonderful dealer, I just want to document this.
He had a hybrid tarantula (possibly a cross between B. emilia, and B. vagans). All the other tarantulas on his table were labeled with common names. This one was labeled "BRACHYAPELMA SP, HONDURAS." Ignoring the spelling error in the latin name, the addition of a country of origin implies that this is a naturally occurring species.
When I saw the spider, I was fairly certain it was a hybrid, and asked Vince immediately. He seemed hessitant, but said I was right. I asked if it was a cross between the two above, and he said he wasn't certain, but I was probably right.
I stopped by his booth at the end of the day and made an offer for it (since I knew it either wouldn't sell, or would be sold with false pretenses at some point). He said since I was the first person to know what it was, he'd sell it to me for the price I offered.
Again, I want to stress that Vince is a GREAT dealer. I just hope if he ends up with any hybrids in the future, he'll represent them as such ;)

Hey Gang!
First and foremost Thanks for all the great reviews! I'm always glad to here from satisfied customers.
So sorry for the Brachy mix-up with the hybrid. It was a Spider Given to us from someones collection that couldn't keep it. He had said it was from Honduras when he gave it to me(about two days before daytona) and I had my assistant label it as such. I probally should have given it more analysis but, at the time, I just was trying to pack. it wasn't till I was stacking the table that I noticed my blunder, oops!
Guess I better watch myself, Attention to detail is KEY! And with all you Arachnopets Guys watchin' me YIKES!! I've gotta be carefull !!!!!!
Thanks again........

Hi,
I am a noob on this site...and let me start off by saying hi to everyone in here... MODs and dealers too....the reason I chose to go here first was because I am in the process of ordering a scorp from Regal Invert. I had talked and emailed to Vince...and let me tell you...he is very friendly to talk to and replied to my email rapidly...too.
I havent actually did any transaction with this company..but based on the friendly customer service...they have my interest in ordering from them. Now I will let you guys knows what happend after I made a purchase with Regal Invt.
Again, I want to thank you all for all the knowledge that I will be gaining on this site and to take care of my future scorpion without getting a trip to the emergency room.:D
Update:
First off...I want to say thanks Vince! This is my first "hot" A. Australis...I called Vince to hand-pick my scorp to my exact description....the scorp arrived exactly what I had ordered, first class service too!!! Positive all the way... =D
The adreneline rush was trying to the scorp into his new home...threw in a sizable cricket and the scorp actually chased after it, grabed the cricket with its pincers and BAM! stick his telson right in the cricket's head. I kinda felt sorry for the struggling cricket...but that's part of mother nature...thru death there is new life.
Now I truly believed that A. Australis is a vicious, hungry predator.
I give Regal Reptiles 2 thumbs up....A+++++

I recently stopped by Regal Reptiles on my way through Providence and was pleasantly impressed with both the unbelievably nice stock of reptiles and inverts as well as the friendly staff. I dealt directly with their Invert guy who I guess was Vince but I didn't get his name while I was there. He showed both myself and my wife in the back and was very knowledgeable about T's and very helpful considering i'm very new to the hobby. His enthusiasm of T's in general showed clearly through and he even picked out a T for us to get that my wife liked. A sling A. Versicolor that was quite the little trooper. He's already been from Providence to Tiverton RI and all the way back to NJ not to mention he ate as soon as I got him back to NJ. Grabbed a big old pinhead cricket right off the tweezers. Thanks again Regal for the solid help and the good deal on the sling. I look forward to seeing you again in White Plains coming up this weekend. All in all a super Positive experience with Regal Reptiles.

I just placed my first order with Regal Reptiles yesterday. Let me tell you - the service it absolutely outstanding (and I'm very picky). I was able to speak with someone each time I called. Took a couple hours to find exactly what I was looking for and they were patient - even with the repeat calls to them.
Then - pricing - I mentioned that I belonged to this board and they cut me such a good deal I just couldn't believe it was true.
If you are looking for a friendly dealer that has a large selection where you can pick up the phone and talk to someone about your needs and have them work with you - then regal is the place to go!
They have earned a repeat customer. Kudos to Scott and the rest of the stafff at Regal.

I have always been very pleased in my dealings with Vince and company. They've been very conscientious about responding promptly, and in following up in my orders.
I'd be even more pleased if their inventory list were updated more frequently :o , but the quality of their service more than makes up for that.
I would do business with them again without hesitation.

ive dealt with regal on about 5 different ocassions... never once was i unsatisfied, i dealt with both scott and vince, awesome guys, great knowledge and service, not only does the store really kick ass, its like a mini zoo for all the people who love creepy crawlies and reptiles, but they have some great people working there
the worst thing that happened when dealing with regal was, well, im not sure, cant think of anything, i recommend them to anyone and everyone, just for the zoo, let alone buying animals as well
oh if theres anything i can complain about, its that they need to update their inventory lists online more often, i only go up there if they get something in that i want, i dont mind the 90 minute drive, but id like to see what they have in stock before i decide to drive there, with gas prices the way they are now a days

VERY friendly and informative service! The T's were gorgeous and healthy, and I was dancing. The only problem was that I ordered an a. geniculata and received an n. chromatus. No big deal, I was happy! The color and attitude were sort of surprising when I opened things up. Angry...angry spider. {D
I talked with him on the phone recently and he offered some amazing prices. I'll be doing business with him veeeery soon! Just don't let any of your haplopelma or a. metallica sell out soon :D

I received a shipment in from Miguel at Regal this morning. Everything was great! This shipment consisted of antilles, green bottle blues, and indian ornamentals, and a few herps.
I have nothing but kind words for the staff of Regal Reptiles, especially Miguel. He went out of his way thru and thru. It was the BEST packing job that I have EVER seen! Everything ate right out of the box (even the emerald tree boa!).
I have found a new supplier!

+ Miguel was a great guy, easy to work with.
+ Everything arrived timely (the next day) all the way here in California.
+ Centipedes were the correct length, were active and vicious.
- One of the Centipedes that arrived was missing a leg.
Other than that everything is great. I'd still recommend this dealer though, got a beautiful Haitian and Chinese Cherry for a good price, and Miguel is very much cooperative.
Positive!
I received some T's today (P. cancerides, T. apophysis and C. crawshayi) and couldn't be more pleased with the whole transaction.
Communications - Excellent:
Initial contact was via a few emails over the course of several days and I received a prompt answer to each of my emails answering all my questions. When I had decided what I wanted, I called and spoke with Miguel and he was extremely friendly and helpful.
Ordering - Very Good:
Miguel verified my order (making sure everything was still in stock regarding the species and sizes I wanted) and took my order over the phone. Took a couple of minutes at most, very easy.
Shipping - Excellent:
After placing my order and giving Miguel my address, he said I'd receive them before noon the next day (today). I did in fact get them before noon and they were packed very well. Lots of insulation and a good heat pack. The spiders were all packed very well in their containers.
The Tarantulas - Outstanding:
They had everything I wanted in stock and in the sizes I wanted, all at very good prices. The T's were all very healthy and active when I unpacked them and have been active for the better part of the day (checking out their new homes, I suppose). Like I said, very healthy spiders. I simply cannot tell you how happy I am with these specimens!
Overall, an extremely POSITIVE experience all the way around. I highly recommend Miguel and Regal Reptiles. P.S. - I'm still wondering how they packed that C. crawshayi because she was striking and hissing before I got her out of the deli-cup. Very nasty temperament! :D

NEGATIVE :(
Regal posted a message about attending the All Maryland Reptile show on December 10,2004. The message advertised T. Blondie's for $25 and $65 (depending on size). The catch was that they had to be pre-ordered. My son-in-law wanted a blondie for Christmas and my wife also wanted one, so...my daughter called to order a young sling and a juvenile for pick-up at the show. The folks my daughter talked to even said that this was a special price for Arachnoboard members. I had plans for the weekend so I gave my daughter the cash and off we go.
Found out when I got home that when they found Regal's table that they didn't bring any T's with them. This close to Christmas and with some kind of special deal going on I would have thought that steps would have been taken to make sure that the orders were treated better.
I hope Regal takes this feedback and upgrades their service.

as well, I was and not happy with them, drove two hours to their store in Rhode Island just to find out you have to PAY them to see their tarantulas, yes, PAY them, once you buy a t, you do get your money back, but IMO thats a very bad way to do business.....

This is my first time ordering from Regal Inverts. It was a X'mas gift for a friend. Miguel was the person that was taking care of my request. And I must say dealing with him is easy and he is a definately a very efficient guy (communication and following up). Making sure all your requests were met.
For example, he took the initiative to send me some great photos for me to choose the tarantulas before I decide. I must say that with him going the extra miles to do something like that. He definately deserve positive rating.
Well done. Thanks again Miguel.

Dear All,
I would like to follow up from the above feedback for Regal's Invertebrates after more than a month dealing with them. To be specific with, Miguel.
This feedback, personally, I think it's worthy for everyone to take note with.
Irregardless of buyers or online dealers here in Arachnoboard. It worth taking some of mine time to pen this experience if it does benefit someone here at the end of the day.
As what I have mentioned in the earlier positive feedback. I have the pleasure to order 2 Theraphosa apopyhsis ( 5 inches ) from Miguel on Dec 2004 as a X'mas gift for a friend of mine. My order was 2 female. And Miguel was kind enough to provide 3 "Confirmed" female photos for me to choose from. I must say, as a first time customer, I'm really impressed by this type of service and assurance. However, I started to think twice again about them.....
After keeping it more than a month, it shows signs of pre-molt and yes it finally molted more than a week ago. And this is where the dissappointment is. A person can lie, but not photographs. It turn out to be a male! ( It's really hard to accept mistake can be made with a 5 inch tarantula )
I have choosen to post this thread after so many days after it molt, not because I have all forgotten about it. But, I think it would be fair to solve this issue under the table and also give ample time(more than 1 week) for Miguel to explain things. However, it seems no one from Regal's Inverts are interested in explaining things to his customers. Hence me too, won't be keen or hestitate to be soft on my comments.
And to all hobbyist out there, do more research on the dealers you want to order from. Sometimes, just a few positive feedback here is not enough you can learn from mine.
Also to dealers, if you do treaasure the reputatution you have build for years. Don't take chances.
For all your viewing pleasure, the photos have spoken for itself.
