I found this girl in the laundry yesterday, sitting on a pair of hubby's work pants with grease and chemicals on them. I was kinda worried about her as she was very lathargic but appers to be doing better this moring and is starting to lay down webbing.

I'm in the Idaho panhandle, about 2 hrs from the Canadian boarder. She is the biggest wolf I've ever seen here, a bit over 1".

That's no wolf spider, it's a grass spider, genus Agelenopsis. Cool find, looks like a very gravid female.

Thanks. I was wondering about it being gravid, its so cold here I didn't think it would be. I kinda want to turn it loose, I don't really like true spiders much.

They make an awsome flat web with a funnel retreat. When the females laya sac they usually die

I think I'll go ahead and let her go tomorrow.
