I found this camel spider in my basement the other day. I had no idea they lived in my area. I couldn't believe it. earlier this year there were dozens of wolf spiders and I noticed that they were disappearing. I thought it was from lack of food but I think this guy was the culprit. I know some of them can grow really big. Does anybody know this species? how big can it get?

From what I understand, the North American species don't get very big at all. Not sure on the species though.

I don't think those are eggs--just coloration/ patterning.
Great find though!

i don't know, i'll go with venom on this one. when a couple of my solpugid females were gravid, the eggs appeared much larger and a white-ish color. and there weren't tons of them like i see in the pic.
i'm not claiming to be right:D that's just what i've noticed before.

Looking at the first picture, you can see there is a gap between the "eggs" and the exoskeleton making me believe it's actually eggs not coloring/patterns. I could be wrong. Regardless, great find! How big is it? I have on that is about 1.5cm long.
