We're in the process of a cleaning overhall at my work (Petco) and man am I finding lots and lots of lactros {D Of course I have to stop and save them from my coworkers' squish shoes and put them in the bushes. This is all done by hand by the way. :D They're such beautiful and fascinating creatures and it astounds me that the first thing to most people's minds is "Squish it!".

I'm in Northeast Texas. If I'm not mistaken, I believe its hesperus that's common here?
EDIT: They were always the males that I found. No females yet

All males? That seems very strange and unlikely. Are you sure you are seeing Latrodectus?

Sorry Latro. Haha I was very tired and wasn't sure on the spelling. Yes I'm pretty sure they were Latros.

The reasoning for all males is rather easy as the yare the ones that wonder, are smaller. and more likely to move into a building in search of that late night nookie call. Also less likely to be killed by customers/employees due to not bieng a giant black bulge on a white tile floor..
