Hello! Does anyone know what species this might be? It's about 4" and I bought it as a Scolpendra sp. probably viridicornis but the guy wasn't sure. I've got two of them and they are really cool. The other one is just about to molt so I didn't want to disturb him/her.

Thank's in advance!

:D Yes it's rather fat. I guess it's going to molt sometime in the near future. It hasn't eaten for a couple of weeks now and is still plump.

I'm no expert but I'd have to agree with Scott. I have one that looks just like that and its a Vanuatu.

doesnt look like mortisans...

I have to go with Scott on this one. Besides if it were a color variant of mortisans which I'm not aware of would it not still have the banding on the legs which this one does not ?

The one difference I see between the pics and my vanuatus is that mine have a much darker (almost black) body color (soft fleshy part between tergites) than what is shown above. However, there are a few color morphs from Vanuatu from what I understand.

A good up-close shot of the legs will help a lot.
