Does anybody know of any good identification keys for genus Steatoda or Agelenopsis? I have only yet found reference to the 1941 Chamberlin and Ivie paper for N. American Agelenidae, but find it VERY hard to actually get, and I found some Therididae keys mentioned, but Im hesitant to spend time and money aquiring something before I know if its actually what Im looking for.

Any hints in the right direction are appreciated.

Most therediidae keys are highly based upon the anatomy of the genitalia. If you have pictures they can probably be ID'd from those via *shutter* the patterning.

hi,
maybe this helps:
Gertsch, W. J. (1960b): The fulva group of the spider genus Steatoda (Araneae, Theridiidae). Am. Mus. Novit. 1982: 1-48.

As far as I know both genera you´re looking for haven´t been revised (recently), so there are no keys. This means hard work and get all the first descriptions.

I pretty much figured it would consist of a compilation of numerous descriptions and such. I just dont know how to find many of them being that many are from as far back as 1930's and I cant seem to get my hands on them without selling my soul.

THanks for the input guys.
