my opionion this is a male, he's smaller and thinner then the other ones i've seen, haven't had the chance to watch his "cheeks" or how do you call those?
anyway, i'm thinking of buying a female to :D

It's bad that they don't do very well in captivity, cause they are reaaly cool animals. My friend got bit by his a couple of days ago. It hurt like hell! It didn't want to let go and started eating on his finger!!! Well, finally he manged to get lose and then it started bleeding...:D

i used a pencil to see how it would react , and indeed he grabbed it and was trying to eat it,.... with his very tasty eating face:)

gongyles: Very nice looking solifugid. I think that you will enjoy him!
aftershock: How in the world did your friend get bitten? I don't put my hands anywhere near my solifugid, even when he is asleep. I have heard that not only is the mechanical bite very painful, but they easily develop a bacterial infection. Keep an eye on that bite.

has anyone has any idea how big the males can get ?
i've noticed that his little guy is growing by the speed of light, i've got him now for some weeks and allready i got the idea that he has grown.

Not sure how big the mals get but you should see some shed when they grow and they spend some time dorment wle getting ready to shed, they will look dead.
