I've caught one tonight after much dismay. I had to chase it through the folds in my curtains for a good five minutes before I could eventually catch him (or her) in a plastic jar.

My question is, how big should I expect my new friend to get?

I ask this because I see a lot of people reporting that it reaches approximately a half an inch, but I remember seeing on that was at least a full inch if not more in my backyard. It was absolutely massive for a jumper and I recognized the green chelicerae. They were like embedded emeralds, they were so vibrant and gorgeous. However good looking, it wasn't vain enough to have an audience as it was gone after I coaxed it for a while.

Thanks in advance everyone.

They get up to a full inch in most phidippus speces. Trust me, an inch will be much bigger than you think. They eat ALOT too and the only time they stop eating is when they are about to molt. Do you have a picture?

This is possibly the best quality of picture that I can take of him/her right now.

I need a closer pic, but if I had to guess from experience. I'd say that's a male.

I agree it appears male. They are docile enough to be captured by hand, I do it all the time. I love them.

Sorry, I'm saving up for a new camera and will have one within this next week. I actually collected a much bigger P. audax right after I made my last post and let the other one free into my backyard.
