I got my first H. Lividum today! He's a fast little bugger... he's alot smaller than I imagined though and I guess I'll have to get him pinheads... He's so small his legs look clear! Also.. he looks dark brown, not blue... does this mean he's a female????? Hmmmmmm

I also got my first B. Smithi, & she's a girl, although I've kept T's for some time!

Very excited!!

I checked on tarantulas.com and the male is dark brown while the female looks a bright cobalt blue.. is this accurate?

(I do know that slings do not demonstrate their rightful coloring they aquire later in life)

Yes, it's correct. If you want to know the sex of the t, try getting a ventral shot or check the exoskeleton after a molt. Can't really determine sex by the colors of slings...

Exactly what I was going to say. Wait until it gets bigger...it's hard to sex slings any way, because of their size. I usually wait until mine are at least in the 1" (usually 1.5-2") before even trying to sex them. I'd say if you're feeding it pinheads, it's probably too small to determine sex accurately at this time.

Don't lividum lose their blue when MM's, but up until that they have the same colouration?

I believe that's correct; plus, most species of tarantulas look pretty dull at that size, anyway. You most likely won't begin to see adult coloration until closer to 2"+. :)
