novice owner

hi just found this great forum so here is my much need an answer to question

i have a newly aquired australian whisling spider. all has been well until now...it has stopped eating so i presumed it was either going to moult or we are in winter at the moment and sometimes they fast in cooler months. But the big question is, it seems to no longer produce silk to line the entrance of its burrow, poor thing keeps trying to do it but nothing is happening...HELP ANYONE
