Hello,
I've bought some Liphistius desultor and today i got the package.
But instead of Liphistius there was this in the box:

Could you please tell me which spider this is?
Is it very venomous?
They were very agressive.

Your spider is a Damarchus cf. cavernicola.
Fast, aggresive, and bite is not medically significant.
They were sold as Malaysian armored trapdoor spiders around here.
I guess just like every trapdoor spider from Africa is labeled Stasimopus or Gorgyrella, every trapdoor spider form Malaysia is labeled Liphistius.

Thank you.
I put them together in a terrarium with high substrat level but today i was only able to find one of them!
The only one i' ve seen wasn't in a trapdoor but in a web on the surface.
I took all the branches and leaves away but i couldn t find the other 3 spiders.
The other spider couldn' t have aten them because their were nothing that would show this like rests of the other ones.
Are you sure that it is a trapdoor spider because the one i found had made her net on the surface?

Um...they may have eaten each other. It's generally unwise to keep predatory arachnids in the same enclosure...cannibalism is an arachnid trait.

Yes, very bad idea keeping them together. It's ok for Liphistius, but not these and almost every other trapdoor spider in the trade.
It is very possible the others buried themselves. They prefer the subterranean life.
They are Nemesiids, a family that includes genera that build trapdoors and genera that don't.
My Damarchus prefer to remain buried in their sealed off retreats, except for one. It built a what refer to as a 'double door' type trapdoor, which is a trapdoor that is hinged on opposite sides and split in the middle. I will post images in another thread.
