Does anybody know what this spider is?
I found it at night beside the swimming pool in Spain (Valencia region). I took a picture and left it to go about its nocturnal adventure. The following day my friends daughter fished it from the bottom of the pool and left it in the net believing it to be dead. I was told about this 10 hours later and went to have a look in the net. The spider was still there and on examination found it to be very much alive despite its aquatic antics and 10 hours stuck in a net beside the pool. I took another couple of pics then it ran off. It was about 1.5 inches long.
Pretty cool but freaked the ladies out!

Hi, I have never seen the Nemesids from spain. But this spider looks like Ummidia (Ctenizidae) IMHO.

I know that Macrothele have long spinnerets..
Maybe that formi are right. Ctenizidae have fovea with cavitt in front orientate like in this photo, while Nemesidae have fovea with cavity rear orientate
Sorry for my english..
