I have 4 days off and i think I'll try to find some L.bishopi. I know they are hard to find but going to try anyhow.I have L.mactans and L.geometricus just need the red widow to add to the family.Any hints will be appreciated.I know they like the dry palmetto scrub .

Look in the same nooks/cranies as u would for mactans and geos but also look higher up into the scrub pines and palms. Scout out webs during the day and collect at night.
Good luck to you! ;)
The only place I know they occur is Ocala and the Boyd hill nature park in St. Petersburg.
I'm pretty sure thats the only location. But you might be talking about those locations cause I dont know where you live lol

Well I found the two of them at the base of the same six foot cabbage palm. They were in the heart of the fronds with a mess of webbing everywhere. They were deep in a thick patch of palmettos with the cabbage palm in the middle.Unlike the macs they seem to like higher web sites about 6 to 10 in. above the ground. Took me 4 1/2 hrs to find them.
