Hi,
i have two bigger juveniles and six spiderlings of Phoneutria boliviensis. What are the differences between this two species? By color, probablly not. I don't know how mom looks like. I have only some pictures of my bigger juveniles. I heard from the owner of the female that it might be fera. I'm not sure what i have, anyway i'm not that kind of person who collects the most venomous animals at all. If it's boliviensis, i'd be even more pleased with what i have.

Hey there!!!

I have no clue either. I have the same kind of question though since I cannot know which specie my spiders are.
Most knoledge people in here on Phoneutria sp. do not write here as much, and there are many people in here who keeps them and would like to know more information.

I am new to arachnoboards and mostly just want some spiders ID'd. How can I find such help? Here is the spider in question. Body size about 18-20 mm. Found in yard in Peoria, IL.

Thanks for any help you might give. My email is blancse2@yahoo.com

Ok, i will answear my own question. It's the size. Boliviensis is smaller.
But what are this markings on the carapace on my specimens. Is this just the juvenile color stage?

Nices Specimen you get there indeed. I have never seen thouse marks on a phoneutria though.
Colors change while they grow. Mine has changed ever since I have her 2 moults ago.
I will post pictures when she molts once more.
