It depends how much you feed them and how well you take care of them. I have 2 G.granti's and a fuzzy solifugid right now and they are awesome pets and great to handle.

it would be really convenient for you if there was an entire thread on this forum about the longevity (and care to maximize longevity) of these arachnids. especially if it was permanently stuck at the top of the first page of the entire true spiders & other arachnids section, making it as prominent and easy to find as possible.

I wanted to say this pretty bad but I decided to be nice.

I suspect that's probably because it's obvious that you don't use the search function and don't try researching on your own before you ask a question that's been possibly answered before. Just a thought. ;)

For christs sake if people dont post, forums dont grow, so once arachnoboards has every question asked should it be locked up and never posted on anymore?!
Leave posters alone, maybe they dont have the time to use the search feature and browse for 10 mins trying to find their exact qustion, so they rely on just popping a quick question hoping someone will be kind enough to answer, instead of posting "use the search feature" just answer them nicely, or if it bothers you so much just dont reply

Right, I like the poeple who say they are tired of seeing the same question asked over and over lol, I'm like, no kidding you would think its a discussion forum or something lol, I dont mind answering questions though, that is if I can.

that sounds a tad too much.... they really dont live long in captivity since their metabolic rate is very high and their general behavior is not suited for cages. About their lifespans in captivity, if u got a male then its not gonna last more than 4-5 months, most of the times even less. Females may last 1yr or so.
Problem is, it is not even known (apart from a few american species) how long do they thrive in the wild.

About the search function, its not even necessary since theres a camel spider lifespan topic right in the stickies (which are usually what i check before writing a topic). Not that i really care since i dont mind replying, but its just to avoid these little flames :D

Your the Man Crpy. I agree 1000000%

I get really angry when I post a question and my response is "look it up"
Or "surch funtion is your friend"

I agree that if some people get soo annoyed about that they shouldnt even bother replying at all.

Once again the I agree with crpy. Solifugids are pretty hard to keep alive in captivity. I have had 2 G.granti's and a fuzzy egyptian species for about 2 months or so(??) and they seem to be doing good. I know were to get some if you want just PM me. Also arachnobreed, thats good and bad to hear at the same time:? haha. But post some pics so we can see them.
