In my experience, Tegenaria spp. demonstrate their strongest feeding response to flies. Crickets they will take, but not as aggressively as flies, perhaps because they are geared more to flying insects, and the buzzing of wings in the web is more recognizeably food to them. Just my take.

Ok if its the one in the jar , we need a clear ID. From the foggy size I noticed, it can take a 1/2 size maybe full size cricket. But you need to put 1/2 a paper towel roll or toilet roll in with it. That makes a good place for them to web, because they catch their prey in webs.

It already made a web.

cool, then drop in a fly or cricket. The paper towel/ TP roll works great for a hide. Or twigs, that way you can see it .

Yeah some of my jokes are vague. Where everyone lives together in peace , love and harmony, well atleast thats one concept fome the sixties.

A small "kritter keeper" is good or what its in if you stand some twigs up in it.

right now it is stressed, very nervous. You need to put something in that it can hide in such as a small box or something similar. It needs to build a good web to catch food. I still can not see if it is a male, I need to see the pedipalps but the pic is way blurry. If it is a adult male it probably will not feed any way.

I dont think it a male cause the internet says males are never in a web only femals do and the spider doesnt have big palps.

All you need is in this thread:

http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=131755

Next time try to use the search function. The thread is conveniently named "Keeping a house spider" :D

Eh? What more do you need?

Take a plastic box, I'd say minimum 6"x6". Put some soil or peat moss in there, and some bark or something. Put the spider in said box. Wait until the spider has made a web, and drop an insect in the web once a week. Every few days, mist the web with water so the spider can drink. The spider will live for a few years if you do like this.

Is there anything that isn't clear?
