my manis' eyes change colors, is this weird?

they're usually a bright pastel green, but tonight and one other time i looked at him and his eyes are a dark amber. is that normal?

i read about that here somewhere, thats either death or a molt. this the same mantid that was spraying the tank with the ab contorted?

yeah it's eyes changed before molt... earlier this evening his eyes were amber and now they are back to pastel green. i thought it was just pooping out some bad moths or something, b/c it went back to normal. but it was doing it again. i don't know what is going on with it? :?

for some species it is quite normal to change eye color in evening/at night.

I do believe they darken so that they can see better at night, much like a humans pupils enlarge

i'm pretty sure that all mantis species eyes darken at night,...
i usually check all my inverts at midnight and when i turn on the lights all my mantis have black eyes,.... so it doesn't mean they gonna molt or die.
