I just got a few new spiders and I was trying to identify them

1. Does the mating organ of an adult male spider can get to a length that exeeds the spider's body?
2. What is the largest fishing spider? Its name, and locality would help too.
3. Does all Latrodectus have hourglass marking?
4. Any spiders that have pink spiderlings?

That's all! Good day fellows! :)

I just got one male spider but its dead already and crunchy too. Sorry about the Cymbia, I got my notes all messed up, I was refering to the organ at the pedipalp the "mating organ", you can see that if your going to tear open the boxing gloves of a male spider. It looks like spiral and pointed at the tip, it is used by the male when transfering sperm to female spider, I was just wondering because this spider that i have has a crazy looking mating organ.

Cymbia or Cymbium/singular was the one thats holds the mating organ and the hollow part of the boxing gloves used in sending vibrations in the web of the female by stridulation.

Sorry, I was sleepless for two days. :D

So you are talking about the whole palp structure? Or do you just mean the embolus? The palp structure *might* be able to get longer than the whole spider(the body), but I doubt if it could exceed the legspan. As for just the embolus, no idea on that part...but I highly doubt that the coil would be long enough to exceed even the length of the body.

hi,
I´ve never seen any spider at which the cymbium or the palpal bulb extended the BL of the specimen itself.
You got a pic of the spider?

In some male Latrodectus sp. the embolus can uncoil to a length that is almost as long as the male's body.

I can't get any good pics, when I got the spider it just molted to adulthood and the embolus is already outside the palps, so I think it got a bad molt thats why it died. I already fixed my messed up notes thank you guys.
