Hey guys, I found this guy at my apartment... scooped him up so he can "safely" enjoy the warmth. Anyway, an ID or any info would be great. Thanks!

I agree. Wolf spider (Lycosidae).

Where did you find it?
Does it climb smooth surfaces? a picture to the eyes is important to determinate if is a wolf.

The eyes look like a typical lycosid to me. You can see the PLEs and PMEs mark the corners of an almost square rectangle in this picture, with the PLEs a little farther apart than the PMEs.

From the picture you cannot really tell if it's a wolf.

I'm wondering how you went from this to later agreeing it is probably Alopecosa, which is a wolf spider? :)

I agree, though, that a head-on picture would be helpful.

Because of the pictures found on the internet.

Thanks guys. I found it right outside my apartment door. It cannot climb smooth surfaces, such as the KK that I have it in. I have a little coco fiber/ vermiculite substrate with a patch of sphagnum moss and a cardboard tube hide and a small water dish. It seems to be doing fine, it's eating small crix.

I'll try and get a head-on pic soon.

Any info on the venom??
