My largest juvenile P. audax female was a red phase her entire life, until this last moult-- her red spots have turned to WHITE!
I'm a bit disappointed. :(
Has anyone else had this happen with specimens at tenth moult? Just curious..

I don't think this is her last moult-- she's still not as large as her female parent, yet. I'm pretty sure she still has one or two more sheds to go! I've had P. audax slings shed up to 12 times, before reaching maturity.
I also have a nearly-mature male, from the same brood. He is still showing the red spot colouring, currently. I hope he doesn't change, as I plan on breeding him to that female! I'm going for size, colour, markings, and temperament, in this particular bloodline.
*crosses fingers*
I recall seeing another thread, where another of our forum members was also selectively breeding Phidippus audax. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I can't seem to find it again, with the "search" feature. :wall:
