hope i spelled that right, man these Tarantula Hawks must be beasts

The T Hawks around here are red and black, about 2 inchs long, and more robust. I am not a wasp man, so perhaps somebody else will chime in. Cool pic by the way.

Not a Sicarius. The URL says "Heteropoda," though it looks rather Thanatus to me.

Are you sure the spider is a Sicarius sp.?
That spider is not a sicarius.

Thats not a hawk :rolleyes: Looks more like a wasp or something. Hawks have a way different shape, different wings, feathers etc. ;)

Not a tarantula hawk, that's a specific genus in the spider wasps. It is in the Spider Wasp family Pompilidae though. Also, looks to be a Heterapoda it's dragging off.
