aureostriata are supposed to be big, beautiful, and friendly.
I don't have either, but I myself am looking to get the aureostriata.

ye but geniculata is just as big and beautifull but a bit more defensive (wich is cool ( i dont intend on handling them to much) my question is more about caring and wich one is tuffer, since its my first one im bound to make a couple of mistakes:P

I am sure both of those species are quite robust, there may be however a difference in the feeding habits. In my experience G. Aureostriata can be a slower grower and in contrast with A. geniculata it will seem like waiting for a rock to grow.
G. Aureostriata is a docile species(in general) does not always mistake everything for food and sometimes shows more than rock-like behaviour
A. geniculata is not as docile, mistakes mostly everything for food and will show different behaviour altogether than G. Aureostriata.
It's like choosing between mild Peri-Peri chicken and the Lemon&Herb chicken lol.

If you want a cuddly critter go with G aureo. If you want impressive defensive behavior and very high prey aggression go A genic. They both get big and beautiful, A genics grow faster though.

Dang. It would suck to to have both. I guess I can answer your question with a question: do you want to handle? If yet, get G aureo, otherwise get the geniculata.
Another clause in the question: do you have any other docile tarantulas that you can handle? If so, go for the geniculata.
G aureo is an awesome T and real friendly (comparatively) but the genic is more interesting and beautiful IMO.

Go with the chaco ( i dont usually use common names but i have a devil of a time with this one and im too lazy to copy and paste!). I bought one about 5 or 6 years ago as a 3/4" sling and my girl is now over 5". She is completely docile and very neat specimen, certainly my favorite. Out of hundreds of T's and selling my collections off 3 times, i have always kept her. She is the only T in my collection that i have named (Big Gurl). They are just that awesome :D. Here she is in all her glory ;)....
