Couple of years ago we went to Alicante in Spain for 2 weeks, there were these amazing large orb weavers there, and one day i found one web which contained the whole shebang if thats how you spell it:p
If anyone can give me an ID on both the species that would be great :)
Anyway on this web i found a large adult female i think feeding on a wasp, accompanied by her adult male, and also a bunch of spider lodgers.

Heres the adult female

The spider whose web it is happens to be an Argiope sp. and the spiders living in the web are Argyrodes sp....

Edit: Argiope seems to be A. lobata

hi,
I agree: Argiope lobata male and female. The small one is a thief spider (Argyrodes gibbosus).

So what's she stealing?

Smaller items that the Argiope ignores, or perhaps occasionally food right out of Argiope's mouth.

I believe also the thief spider will occasionaly nab the smaller male from time to time. but don't qoute me on that.
