If this isn't the best day of my life (so far!) then I don't when it is. I mean, yeah I was expecting an orange spider, but this is wow, just wow. Also, it's a female, and the first thing she did to me was give me a threat pose, then she began to web, and I decided to throw in a cricket and she grabbed it! Now she's webbing and eating at the same time. What a lovely spider. Absolutely splendid. I'm running out of superlatives to describe her.

I also received four 4th instar Rhopalurus junceus (pardon the quality of this one :o ). :)

Yeah, I just wish they were more uncommon. It's not fun to have something everyone else has.

She is lovely!! What does it matter how available they are if you enjoy them?

are they common on your side of the pond as well?

i too like to have things that no one else does but i make exceptions for the really cool stuff;) (OBTs, LPs, XBOX...etc)

They're not common here at all. I had to import her from the Philippines. As I said before, there is no invertebrate market here in Singapore. :(

well, that sucks.

is it difficult to import to singapore? i know there are some laws over there that are considered incredibly strict by my standards but do the import laws fall into that category?

I'm not sure, to be honest. On the SingPost website, there is a Prohibited Items list and there is no mention of invertebrates. There's even a vPOSTUSA shipping service and this is what it says:

"vPOSTUSA is a service provided by Singapore Post, which allows you to shop at eligible and multiple U.S Merchant websites* at the same time and have your items consolidated¹ and delivered to your Singapore address. With vPOSTUSA service, you save much more as the shipping charges offered are lower than most international shipping providers and you can purchase items from sites that do not accept International Orders!"

I hope this means I can order from dealers in the US.
