Spider meets Ant

Checked one of my pitfall traps the other day and found this ant had grabbed the leg of a wolf spider (Trachosa terricola) and nothing was going to make it let go. I put them in alcohol, and I'll bet that 50 years from now the ant will still be hanging on. :)

A little of both. I've been finding T. terricola in my pitfall traps for a little over a week now and thought it'd be a waste to just throw this one away. I'd caught several more of this species that week, all undamaged, so I put this one (and its inseparable ant partner) in alcohol along with them ...

Okay, Okay! I kept it mostly because it was interesting. :)
