I'd never have seen this spider if it hadn't moved as I passed by its tree. :)
BL = 7mm Philodromus sp. (Philodromidae)

Well, it's a Philodromus sp. Maybe a P. praelustris.

here one can find a colorform of P. maraginatus that looks similar

But....of course one can never rely on a photo. You must use an electron microscope to scan its privates in High-Def, then compare with 3-D modeling of all known arachnid parts to ID it to Arachnida, then,...you might hazard a guess that it is, in fact, a spider...;) ;P

Did you mean P. margaritatus? That's only in the palearctic as far as I know.

An eastern species that I don't think is found in Alberta.

Or, at the very least, some kind of arachnid.
