Hello.....I have a red trap door spider. iv had him since march and everything was going well but recently hes hasnt eaten and by recently i mean like a month now. I no they can store food to eat at a later date but obviously I hav no way to make sure he has..... ther was a period when I first got him, he didnt eat and i got worried so i opened up his door kind of forcefully to check him but it stressed him but he ate again, and i dont feel comfortable doing that again can anyone help me or does anyone have any ideas. thanx for reading this and if you write a reply

might be that it's approaching a molt, or is just full. spiders will fast before an upcoming molt. and keepers (myself included) tend to overfeed their critters, so it might just be full. it knows what it's doing, it will eat again when it gets hungry. my rosea didn't eat for a year and was perfectly fine, and some of my widows i will let go (over the winter) for a few months without food (making sure they have water for sure though).

just make sure your spidey doesn't get dehydrated and everything will be a-ok :D

thanx very much, much appreciate the knowledge uv just handed me i was really starting 2 panic.....if u can or hav any idea of feeding times. id done some research b4 i got him. and it says to feed him once every 2 weeks....didnt say wat or how much so once a week i put 4 crickets in half the size of him but recently he hasnt eaten so hopefully it is just shedding....he used to only eat one or 2 and i pulled out the dead ones. and does he drink from the wet soil. i no i sound like i dnt no much and u probably h8 ppl like me, but iv kept alot of animals and am trying 2 get in2 spiders
