Caught a very large female Geolycosa this morning, She had 30-40 babies with her who are all doing well. One of her back legs was injured in the capture, and she is missing half of it. However she pretty much is just sitting in the jar I have her in not moving much, and when she does try to crawl it is very spastic and she is having trouble walking, she also doesn't right herself when I flip her over, I've seen this before but have no idea what to do.

what kind of "jar" is it and what substrate are you using? any hides for her? have you given her water?

It's a standard peanut butter jar I found sitting around (The Hogna got the big one..). She has got normal dirt from my backyard, the same kind I used to rear this species last year and that they where originally found in. Dirt is moist, to allow burrowing. I just got her a few hours ago, so she has no hide at the moment. She is a burrowing species I wasn't too sure how important it was, the one I had last year never wanted one when it was offered, and would always just dig.

She has some water, I've considered her being dried out and she was misted. She is staying a fairly consistent temperature without baking.

well the setup sounds pretty good. just make sure she has water and try to keep the stress down, that might mean putting a hide in there just in case. hopefully she'll perk up soon.

She isn't moving at all now, must be stress from capture and the injury, very sad. Good news is the 30-40 babies I have crawling around :) And the adult/baby hogna I managed to get to, both doing wonderful.
