I am a huge first person shooter/gamer with my team and I winning about 12 championships, money tourneys and prize tourneys on various web sites over the last 7 years (hence the tag WARPIG).

Last night we were deep in a match at about 11:30pm when out of the corner of my eye I see what appears to be a T on the floor, but I couldn't take my eyes off the screen as I was deep into the game. I instantly knew that I was in trouble when my cat Missy started to growl from the bed at my side.

I looked down to see my 4" female P irminia walking very slowly as if she were trying to sneak up on me. I told my teammates that I had to leave to go capture a loose tarantula.

I had left her enclosure unsecured while feeding T's earlier and she bolted free hours later. If anything had happened to her I would have been really upset. This is one of my T's raised from a sling and any T I raise from a sling are especially dear to me.

I rejoined the match about 5 minuets later and my teammates were whooping it up, one said I have now heard every reason for leaving a match, 'Really a loose tarantula'.

I caught alot of non-sense for the duration of the match.:o

You should always be careful after feeding T's, thats when your most apt to make a mistake, In 3 yrs, It finally happened to me.

Yup, happened to me sooner than later and still haven't found those two slings (been over 3 days now). My P. cambridgei made a break for it while I was misting the container and went into a crack. The other was a versicolor that managed to escape through a hole. Still feel very guilty about it.

my O. aureotibialis did a magic trick when i was trying to move her into a new container, actually two tricks. first, she vanished into the substrate and i accidentally moved her into my bin of extra dirt (i'd assumed she was inside the dirt clod that used to be a burrow, but she wasn't). the second was when i was sifting around looking for her. she bolted out of a handful of dirt and disappeared into my room.

luckily, i caught her in the corner of my eye in the space between my bed and a plastic chest a few minutes later.
