Hey,
maybe not that interesting for you, cause it's a local Florida species, but I decided to mate my two viridis after I waited approx. one year for my supposed female to lay eggs. Nothing happened, so I started to mate today.
Not much footage material available, cause it went incredibly fast - picked up the camera while my mouth was still full of french fries:
Wish I taped it on video, cause on this pic you see the female behind the male, stimulating the male while he vibrated and produced a sperm web under the bark.
After he has finished, he came out and the female stayed under the bark for 15 seconds and probably picked up the spermatophore - after she left the bark I saw a process coming out of her anus with something glueing on the tip.
Here is the underside of the bark with the sperm web - picked it up after they finished:
The male seemed to be pissed off by the female after everything has finished and just wanted to be left alone, so I decided to separate them after a few seconds.
They were together for one hour, but the stimulating and mating process was completely finished after only 5 minutes. In my opinion that's incredibly fast.
Regards,
Turgut
