Milipedes

I live in Vicksburg, MS, its a city on the Mississppi in the far western middle of the state. I was looking around a large fallen tree in my backyard, and under the leaf litter in the dirt I found a large milipede, one I've never seen a picture of and can't find anything on it yet. It is at least 4 to 5 inchs and is colored in muted red and green stripes. Theres loads of baby milipedes and centipedes in the area. Just curious if anyone is familiar with these. I haven't taken a picture of him yet, and was going to return him back to where I found him in a couple days.
