I did post this pic somewhere else but it does belong here.
Bought as the above but it is still too small for me to be able to ID it 100% but I have no reason to doubt it is a Macrothele gigas.
Don't see these very often.

Hard to believe it's a trapdoor. It's so pretty, why hide in a hole? :-)

I've never heard of Macrothele making trap doors :? ? They are usally referred to as funnel webs. Although I've only kept one sp. (http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?t=109567&highlight=monocirculata) , they always lived on top of the soil.

Macrothele gigas......giant Japanese "funnel web" spider :D
It is getting a bit bigger so I could post some more pics if there is any interest ?
Think the venom my be a bitmore potent than any T
