I have kept African Giant Black millipedes for several years, but I need some info concerning the decaying leaf part of their diet. I have always collected hardwood leaves in the fall to feed them, primarily oaks and maples. I have always avoided the deciduous magnolia in my back yard. Has anyone tried feeding these guys magnolia?

HEllo,
Generally they will munch in rotten or decaying plant matter and sometimes animal or fruit matter.

So if you can compost or decomposed those leaves yes you can use it as substrate or feed it to your millis.

If it is something not Yummy they will not touch it again.

Thanks Francisco....I just need to find a way to compost large amounts of leaves. I have been composting in small batches, but I want to make larger batches.
