I have a 2 foot King snake I want to set up a natural looking enclosure for. I have the following substrate at my disposal:
sand
pea gravel
river loam (dirt)
peat moss

What is going to be the safest & most natural substrate for the areas where the King is naturally found? I dont want to cause any health issues with this setup. I can do the background, rock & other hides myself as I have tarantulas set up in natural enclosures. I have done image searches online & find lots of pics but no details on substrate. Thanks! kim

what species? do you know the habitat they generally live in?

If he is a desert kind he will fair well with a sand pea gravel mix and that can look very nice:)

but if he is from the south east like a florida king snake he will live more comfortably in a woodland enviroment with a mix of river loam andpeat moss.

best of luck to you.

I am really glad you would prefer this alternative rather than use aspen beding:clap:
