My GBB, my favorite T died today... :(

But I noticed that my Whiteknee was hungry so...

I decided to do some recycling...

I have done this in the past with dead tarantulas. Another spider makes quite a substantial meal.

Did you mate him before his death?

Nope, I tried finding a female but no luck. Hopefully I'll find a new GBB next year.

Unlucky. :( You may want to try advertising males on the British Tarantula Society bulletin board in the future - it's a shame to see a male go to waste :)

In the interest of science, I TRY to keep R.I.E.S.M. in mind whenever I lose a T. But, Ts are an excellent source of protein, so, why not?

And, it's usually SO HARD to just toss them in the trash!

So sorry for your loss! (Go buy a new one)

(Now)

(Maybe two)

;)

He died an old man, can't see it hurting the genic.

Good that you recycled him...I'm sure the genic appreciated it anyway :)

Did you buy him as a sling?
If so, how long did he live?
Did you keep molt records, if so how many molts?

Nice pictures.

And now a stupid question: is the big spider a A. Geniculata?

...

Talk about sucking the life out of it! !

On the third pic, the abdomen is all deflatted, that genic is hungry.
Mine is only 1.25 and it eats like a pig.

Great looking spider!
I'm getting 8 A. Geniculata slings in a coupple of weeks.
Can't wait for them to grow as big as the one in the picture.
