I have a 3" H. maculata that seems to think that molting on its side is a right snappy idea. It's molted 3 times since I've owned it and every time it does it on its side (no matter how much open space is around it). I know that it's not a good thing for it to do but I don't want to mess around with it when it's in such a fragile state (not to mention that I don't really want to be bitten). Is this a normal peculiarity with this species? Any advice on what to do when the situation arises once more?
