Hi,
I've got a concern with my Pterinochilus chordatus. She is full grown, about 4.5" and hasn't molted since May of 2002. Normally with other tarantula species (Grammastola, Brachypelma) I wouldn't be concerned, but seeing as Pterinochilus is a shorter lived species, I am starting to wonder if she will ever molt again. To complicate things, She hasn't eaten since May of this year, so we're going on 7 months without food.
She remains fat and somewhat active, but I am wondering if she is nearing the end of her life.
Any similar experiences with Pterinochilus would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Ralph
