but she left me tons of oothecae, hopefully they will be fertile so there will be tons of little baby mantids running all over the place next spring

my mom found her in the garden so hopefully she mated before i caught her

A wild collected mantid that lived until now is pretty impressive! If it had wings when captured, it was an adult, amd was most likley already fertilized.

yeah i got her about the second week of october, and she was an adult then, i lost track of how many oothecae she gave me, maybe 7 or 8

You are talking about the foam like egg case they make?
I didn't know matisis created more then one. I
have them in my garden here every year and
get to watch the babies grow.
