I have two very rare Phyllium Pulkrafolium leaf insects I have been raising for 6 months. I thought for sure they were both female so I would at least get 200 parthenogenic eggs.
Well, today the first one molted to a male. Useless with no female and I know of no females in the US.
Oh well......not a good year for my breeding efforts!

OMG Bob! You are SO lucky!!! Is the other a girl? Man I'd do anything for a sexual group of that species.

Wow! Those are amazing looking! That's a bummer that there are no females of that species in the U.S. :( . I hope you get a female out of the other one. I love leaf insects:) .

Bob, that is the saddest thing I've heard in a long time, which in itself is sad.hehe I was really looking forward to seeing some of those produced in the US. You have got to get some more of that species! I would really appreciate it if you sent me the males when they die, they would look so awesome framed.
