since my knowledge of scorpions extends no farther than the two weeks it took for my one and only emperor scorp to die on me, i didn't have a chance to see it moult. just how does a scorpion moult? does the old skin "pop" under the pressure caused by the new skin underneath (like a tarantula), or does it just peel itself out, like a banana or something? and, when the whole process is over, is the shed part recognizable and intact, or is it completely obliterated? inquiring minds want to know....

Pretty much just like a T. When it's done you have a complete exoskeleton left. They pop at the front of the chelcirae, pull their pedipalps out pull their legs out and then just pretty much walk out of the exuvia, pulling the rest of themselves out.

PS I'm working on the pics now

i just checked out your moulting pics and all i have to say is "oooh, i get it now!"
i'm still very curious as to how they manage to get their legs out, though. maybe i'll just have to get one and observe!
