dung beetles

i would like to have a few as pets but i am having a hard time finding a place to get them from. so far i have found 1 place called hatari invertebrates. if anyone knows anywhere else to get them i would appreciate it.

in my back yard under a pile of dog crap...or in it for that matter

You really can go into your backyard and find them in dog crap. They are called dung beetles for a reason.

guess you'll have more luck finding them underneath Horse-crap,...
don't think you'll find them between the "shi*" of carnivores :?

and yeah,..realise that you'll have to feed them what they like the most ;)

Yeah horse or cow crap is definately s better choice, hehe. I think I read about someone using their dog as a permanent food source for a colony of dung beetles though.

Actually, I have seen them rolling balls of dog feces, but I think horse and cow are more likley. I also read a paper that described dung beetles exstracting tadpoles from dried mud puddles and rolling them up!

Hatari is probably a good place to get them. Golden Phoenix Exotica may be able to get them if you request them, Darrin collects alot of beetles.
