The 4" rosea in this enclosure has been on an extended fast. I gave her an adult cricket yesterday to see if she would take it. When I checked in on her later I saw the cricket trussed up in the middle of a non-rosea web inside her hide. Seems she has acquired a roommate that invited itself for dinner. You just can see the little moocher to the left of the cricket. It's not even as big as the cricket's head! This explains why the rosea abandoned her hide recently...

I had a Steatoda sp. Living in my N. chromatus enclosure for a while, though I eventually removed it when it was clear it wasn't going to catch anything.
Also, that's not an adult cricket! /nitpick

Well, near adult... :) It is, was, >1 inch and many of its 'mates' had full wings. All supposedly from same hatching.
I'll be removing this little spider today. Apparently the rosea doesn't care for it building webs in her hide.
