So my Male Euthlas sp blue molted out to MM last night but....i was shocked to discover it lost its 2nd and 3rd leg on the left side....
Im assuming he's useless for breeding?
I really really wanted slings from him...i really love that little guy! =(

Try him. You'll never know if you don't. Chances are he won't be able to push the female upright, therefore unable to complete an insertion, but like I said, you never know ;)

Worst comes to worst, he becomes lunch but you tried...

I really can't speak on it, since I haven't read thoroughly enough yet, but I do recall reading that some have used a pinch grab method on their female to allow the male to get a safe insertion. If that's done, then it seems like it would really help in this case?

He has his palps, so that is good.

Personally, I'd watch him over the next couple of weeks, and see how he moves. If he seems hampered, then help might be necessary. I stand by with long forceps if the female isn't "bending" and use them to block her if she tries to lunge for the male. That might be all he needs - just a little help.

If he adapts and moves normally - hey, he's got about the same chance as any other male, right?

Good luck,

Marga
