isnt Shinisaurus crocodilurus an endangered species?
I believe it is listed now. The shinnies you find in captivity should be all captive bred and descendants of stock taken over two decades ago before they were listed. Many of us are working with animals that were produced by Agama International. If habitat destruction continues as it is now, the only place you'll be able to see shinnies in hobbyists' collections. The estimated wild population size was 2500 in 1990. If it isn't already the case, there will most likely be more in captivity than in the wild (similar to most tiger species) before long.
