Aren't these endangered due to habitat loss also? If they are then this news is double great!

Aw, thats good to hear, I've read around that they arent only suffering from habitat loss and pollution, but from peoples ignorance in the past. A guy gave an interview that discussed when he was a teen (hes old old now) he and his friends would go down to the river, catch and kill these poor guys for fun. He said that today he regrets those decisions. But this is great news, I'm glad that there is success in breeding these guys.

This is an Ohio one, but they're similarly endangered.
Hopefully someday everyone will have a chance to see these creatures.

Sadly no. It's an undisclosed location that I got to go to while someone else was doing population data. We helped with the process of lifting rocks to find one. We got REALLY lucky to find this old lady, but there have been essentially zero sighted wild young for a very long time. The whole pop is essentially ghosting out of existence.
