I am looking into getting some assasins. i need the basics.

best beginner species
when and what to feed
substrate
how long do they live
enclosure type
breeding requirements
precautions
moisture, temp. and humidity
how dangerous are they

any and all info is appreciated. thanks guys.

1. Platymeris bigutatta
2. crickets or mealworms, etc. keep them well fed.
3.peat or soil or even vermiculite.
4.Not sure.
5. Can keep 1 ore 2 in a tall deli cup with something to climb on.
They can spray at you but, I've never seen them do it. Definately wouldn't want to handle them, their bites are supposed to hurt like hell.

best beginner species - any of them is good
when and what to feed- bugs
substrate- soil with sund is good enough (1:2)
how long do they live -about 1-1,5 year after last molt
enclosure type - rock desert
breeding requirements -many pleaces to hide
precautions - ??
moisture, temp. and humidity - 20-30 *c , low 40-70% is good enought
how dangerous are they , venom simular too hornet

As far as I know, in nature they live on the rainforest floor.

So I'd use potting soil as substrate, and provide a few plants and other hiding places.
This is the way I keep mine, and they are doing very well :)

i think that its no diferance for them :p

but rain fforest huminidyty is about 80 % ...

hmmm maby i will try to rise huminidity too :]
to this moment i wear thinkink tghat they live in more dry enviroment .....
