African Red Trapdoor Spider

Hi. I just got a African Red Trapdoor spider it is about 2 1/2 inches. How bad is their venom? I heard that it can cuase extreme swelling and nausea. If you have this species of spider please post pictures. I will be posting pictures soon. How long do they live?

If it's a Gorgyrella sp. their bite isn't supposed to be dangerous, but they are related to several very significant biters. Care is advised. This is "general exotic pet dealer" knowledge, so a grain or two of salt may be in order. I'm sure someone knows the specifics better than I.
