I think these are one of the nicest of the Brachypelmas. maybe not as colourfull but one of the most interesting and certainly most docile spiders i have ever kept. This is my adult female (almost 6 inch legspan) that i have had almost 8 years and she was adult size when i got her.
Lets see some of your curly hairs pictures and lets have your views on the species.

I bought my first curly hair back in March as a .5" sling. I've loved them since I first saw one. Not my favorite Ts but they are great. The one I have has molted twice and seems to be gaining a lot of size between the molts. Big eater too. Cool little spider.

Here's mine. It's about 2.5" right now. This pic was taken when I got it.....the store was keeping it on soaking wet vermiculite. This little guy/gal is my garbage disposal. Since I only buy crickets on feeding day, this T gets any leftovers and is always happy to eat them. She's now quite fat.

Hey, Thanks for posting pics of these guys/girls! I have an adult female that has bulkdozed her house and lives inder hte ground! I never see her out. I have to shine a flashlight in the hole just to make sure that she is still alive! I would love it if she wold come out! I miss seeing her! I have 2 slings that are her offspring and they are little bulldozers too!

I thought it was 800+? :D From the size of the cargo section, you might be seperating over 1000 this time
Here's Roxanne, but she doesn't get to enjoy the gravid excuse... She's just a good eater :o
And the little female, she's 1 from the sack 2 years ago... She has her mom's rump... :p :o :)

LOL Mendi!
I think it was Joy that had over 800, we both used the same male though! Poor Billy Norton, he ended up with ALOT of slings <giggle>

Damn, these are some great shots! Even down to the tibial hooks showing so clearly. Tell me about your camera and setup. I've recently bought a macro for my digital Olympus and am just getting used to how close to get for a decent shot. Great job on the shots AND the T's

Although very common. I think the curly hair is very underated as a T. They are very gentle and quiet beautiful. We have 3. :)

Hopefully soon this little guy will be a proud poppa, the camera i am using is a simple Canon Powershot S60 the macro isnt all that good but everyonce in a while it gives me a good shot. Although i am also phobic to manuals so maybe im just not using it right, either way experimentation is the key so ill keep on trying till something works.

This one shed about 3 weeks ago and is now back to eating like its going out of fashion lol.
I make it clear that i dont condone the handling of ANY spider but i do from time to time.

Quick question I've been meaning to ask but left out of a couple threads it should have been in. At what size do male B. albopilosum mature? I wasn't able to find anything specific with a search and I've never seen a mature male of this species. The one I have now is ~3". My female just molted and the male is due for a molt in January (if my estimations are correct). Can I expect him to hook out with the next molt or do I have a while to go? Thanks for any info.
Here's a pic of him to show size in relation to my hand (sort of). Sorry, no dorsal shot.

They are the most popular spiders in Poland.
