I heard this new pet store recently opened up so i went to check it out. I was pretty disappointed with what I observed. :mad:
The prices were outrageous, for everything. The animals were in cramped cages too small for them (an adult guinea pig in a 10 gallon aquarium)and the litter in most of the cages looked like it hadn't been changed in several days (some looked like it had been even longer), smelled bad in there! They had a 12" bearded dragon in a 10 gallon aquarium, no heat, no light, no food. Nearly all of the leopard geckos were missing a tail. Non of the animals appeared to have any food in thier cages except the birds but even they could have used some more. The tarantulas they had were in equally bad conditions. They had 3 B smithis, 1 G rosea all on bark pieces and no food or water. They all had water dishes with a small sponge but they were all bone dry, including the bark substrate.
2 of the tarantulas had shed but the skins were left in the containers. One of the B smithi had such a tiny abdomen, it looked positively starved! I won't be spending any of my money there. :mad:
