I was just browsing through sling housings and was thinking isn't that substrate quite wet? I'm getting 3 P. murinus slings and was said that they like it on the dry side. Is there so big differences between species or is that far too wet?

There are differences btwn species, depending on their natural habitat, and slings tend to require just a bit more humidity.

Also, some people dampen the substrate to get it ready for a new enclosure, then let it dry sufficiently and keep it at the required balance of moist/damp once it's dried a bit. Don't know if this is what Tito's doing, but it's very likely as these are new slings.

Hi Tito fellow countryman,

Did you order the C. cyaneopubescens from Holte breed?

I keep both my GBB and P murinus slings on dry peat. They both web their jars up quite a bit. I mist the web lightly once in a while for moisture. That seems to work quite well for me.

Nice. I wanted to buy one of those myself, but ended up with a B. boehmei instead.
Do you know if he has any left?
